The Forbidden Print

Mixing print's is what you make of it. It allows you to be creative and fun and show your own personality. I have created a few looks for the daring and not so daring to experiment with different prints and patterns.

Are you are someone who loves the idea of mixing prints and patterns but is to shy to go uber crazy?
I suggest keeping a similar colour scheme or using pastel colours with different materials to conquer this trend. Image one, allows you to mix prints but using the aqua tone as your base colour, softens the look without being too much. Image two has very different patterns, but you can see how staying on trend can be made minimalistic. Image three, staying with the theme black, allows you to mix two bold prints but staying very safe.

Now for those of you who are that bit more daring, mixing prints is fun and shows how bold you are! Outfit one (left) is a more casual idea of mixing. Staying neutral with a white tee, and choosing a bold flower print pattern trousers, oozes confidence. A navy color theme has been kept to blend the two patterns. Outfit two (right), is a sample of a more dressy occassion.  Even though the jacket is plain , its pattern is quite distinctive, and runs into the pink colour scheme of these gorgeous flower print trousers.

And finally for the fashionistas daring to mix pattern and colours, here is an idea of what you can achieve. Growing up I went through a phase of clashing the colours I wore and I was always complimented on it. Are you brave enough to try these looks? Image one (top) is very different but the colours match. Image two (bottom) the prints are complete opposites and some may say they clash, but a little tip, you can match them by simple tricks such as a base white shirt with white in the pattern of the shorts, or the red shorts picking up the orange and red flowers and birds on the shirt or staying with a bird theme in both prints.
